On 04/02/2014 at 4:02 p.m. Pinch Fire Department was dispatched to a reported auto accident with injuries in the area of the 1 mile marker of Interstate 79 South. Engine 23 arrived on scene to find a rock slide blocking both the slow and fast lanes of Interstate 79. Crews immediately went to work to assist EMS with patient packaging and loading. Crews remained on scene with law enforcement to assist with traffic control until West Virginia Division of Highways arrived. The Interstate was able to be opened to one lane and remained that way for approx. 1 hour until crews were able to remove the debris.

No other injuries or damage was noted.

Units: Engine 23, Rescue 2 (cancelled), Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, Kanawha County Ambulance
