On Sunday March 26th at approx. 1157 hrs Pinch VFD was alerted to an accident with injuries on I-79 N at the 1 mile marker. Prior to FD units arriving on scene dispatch informed responding units there was a pending cardiac arrest. A PVFD member along with Law Enforcement arrived on scene within a very short amount of time to find a male patient slumped in the drivers seat of the vehicle. During a quick assessment it was found the patient had shallow respirations and a very weak, faint pulse and was unresponsive. An AED was placed on the patient and was utilized. After 1 shock from the AED the patient became alert and vital signs returned to normal. The patient was transported to a local hospital by EMS and roadway reopened after removal of the vehicle.
