December 9, 2018

Sunday, December 9th turned into in a busy evening for the Pinch Fire Dept. Three Reported Structure fires in as many hours, with this fire on Candice Drive being well off on arrival. From the initial Dispatch Engine 23 with a crew of five was the first arriving Engine six minutes later to find a Single Family mid entry home well off. the Engine Company stretched two landlines and once a sustainable water source was established an additional 2/12" was deployed along with the Wagon pipe from the Engine. Crews remained on scene for a few hours to contain and extinguish the fire. the cause was not determined.

A key note to this story is that the 9 year old daughter, made the discovery of fire & Contacted 911 to get everyone out of the home.

Pinch Volunteer Fire Dept was assisted by Malden Volunteer Fire Department, Kanawha County Ambulance Authority & Kanawha County Office of Emergency Management.
