We are pleased to announce that The Board of Directors has appointed Deputy Chief John "Opie" Thaxton as our Fire Chief. Chief Thaxton joined the department in 1989 and has served the department and community for over 30 years. In his personal life John is the owner and director of Hafer Funeral Home. John is married to his wife, Tina, and they have three children, J.T., Joel, and Amy.

We would also like to take this time to recognize and thank retiring Chief David Wagoner for the 10 years of outstanding leadership he as provided to the Pinch Volunteer Fire Department. Chief Wagoner said he would not be a stranger, and was looking forward to being a firefighter again!
