Retirement reception for Deputy Chief Gary Morris
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By LIEUTENANT Bob Jeffries
July 9, 2012

On 15 June 2012 a surprise reception was held for Deputy Chief Gary Morris at Coonskin park. Earlier this spring Chief Morris announced his plans for retirement after 37 years to the PVFD and community. In addition to these Gary has had a total of 54 years of service in the fire and EMS fields. Chief Morris has had many fire and EMS instructional roles, been involved in emergency planning for the Kanawha valley, emergency operations coordinator, and too many other titles and roles to mention. Gary has spent countless hours at the stations making sure each was well supplied, drinking water was always on the apparatus, and equipment always in service. There was never a disaster or emergency Gary was not part of..... Lillian he is yours full time now!
