On 02/06/2014 at 11:38 a.m., Pinch Fire and West Virginia Air National Guard Fire Dept were dispatched to the 300 block of Keystone Drive for a possible structure fire. West Virgina State Fire Marshal Unit along with Kanawha County Emergency Management units arrived on scene to find a single story wood frame structure, with no smoke or flames appearing from the outside. Pinch Fire units arrived on scene and were told the fire started in the kitchen area, but was extinguished prior to units arriving. Units went to work with the Thermal Imaging Camera finding smoke and hot spots in the attic extending to the roof. Overhaul process began in the kitchen, attic, and roof. Ventilation was set up to clear the residence of any remaining smoke, and salvage tarps placed on the roof until repairs can be made. All units were returned to service, with no injuries reported.
